Led shader development and tools throughout the cinematic production. Streamlined set-dressing and layouts to align with complex camera paths, and assisted with artists to ingest content into engine.
Tools and Features
All content is created in Unreal Engine and separate from Firaxis’s proprietary game engine.
Custom Multi-Layer Master Material
Define up to three different layers of customization.
Each layer contains its own PBR maps and values, masking, and choice of local or world aligned UVs.
Substance Painter Material Templates
Base materials to serve for further refinement for character artists.
Sandstone, stone, wood, bronze, and steel varieties.
Blueprint Splines for Walls and Set Dressing
Used as baseline for in-editor assets such as the Great Wall of China.
Definable actor bounds and spacing, and seed randomization.
Layout and Scene Iteration
Environments are organized in parentable containers to allow set dressing to follow along camera moves.
Required close coordination with artists and lighters to define vision.
